Plain-language privacy

We collect less by design and describe the system that actually exists.

This policy covers Worthwise Guides pages, review requests, correction submissions, subscription preferences, abuse prevention, search, and retailer-link operations.

Information you choose to submit

A review request can include a topic, problem, intended use, budget band, products considered, explanation, optional email address, notification choice, and time received. A correction can include a page reference, issue type, explanation, optional supporting URL, receipt identifier, and time received. A subscription preference includes an email address, preference, consent-text version, consent time, and status.

Public forms are available only when the required abuse-protection settings and secrets are configured. When they are closed, the interface says so and the server rejects submissions.

Abuse prevention and operational data

For an open form, Worthwise creates a secret-keyed daily hash from the requesting network address. The raw address is not stored by the application. Daily hashes and form-rate events are deleted after seven days through scheduled maintenance.

Cloudflare processes requests needed to deliver and protect the site. When Cloudflare Web Analytics is enabled, its beacon reports aggregate visits and page-performance measurements; Worthwise does not add advertising profiles or an analytics cookie. After a visitor deliberately selects a retailer link, Worthwise may send a separate nonblocking first-party event containing internal page and link identifiers, placement, retailer, affiliate or non-affiliate status, and a coarse time bucket. The event is not fired automatically and does not contain an Amazon account, cart, order, email address, or raw network address.

How information is used

Submitted information supports demand grouping, research planning, correction review, consented preference export, link maintenance, aggregate outbound-link measurement, and abuse prevention. Worthwise does not sell reader-request or subscription data and does not use link events to create artificial affiliate traffic.

A retailer destination has its own privacy practices. Following an Amazon link sends your browser directly to Amazon's tagged product-detail URL; following another product link sends it to that retailer. Worthwise does not receive Amazon account, cart, or order behavior through its first-party link event.

Retention and reader controls

Private owner exports support review of request text, corrections, and pending subscription preferences. The reviewed owner workflow can suppress, restore, or delete a subscription by its internal identifier. Requests involving other records require a backed-up, verified operator process; there is no public account or self-service deletion portal yet.

Email sending is disabled. Storing a preference does not start delivery. Before notifications begin, Worthwise must connect an approved provider and provide the controls required for actual email operation.
